Opportunities to observe and discover the wonders of nature while “walking in the footsteps” of Lewis & Clark along the 2.5 miles of trails including views of the Missouri River, and a view of the “boundless prairie” that Captain Clark noted in his journal when the explorers camped here July 18-19, 1804. Exterior exhibits include a full size replica of their 55 foot long keel boat, and a Native American earth lodge.

Interactive exhibits inside our 12,000 square foot three-story building provide unique historic, scientific, cultural, recreational and educational experiences to visitors of all ages with a wide range of interests and backgrounds. Students learn about the items that Lewis & Clark discovered, documented and sent back to President Thomas Jefferson. Casual observers get a view of the Missouri River from all three floors of the Center.
