On the shore of Lake Sakakawea, this park includes miles of shorelines, a native mixed-grass prairie, beaches, and hiking trails. The park features modern boating facilities, including a marina, perfect for fishing. With a diverse array of flora, there are many opportunities for wildlife viewing and birding. Flora walks also allow for visitors to easily spot wildflowers throughout the park. Hiking trails that traverse the park contain non-native grasslands, native mixed-grass prairies, wooded ravines, and badland communities. Visitors looking for a unique outdoor adventure can also rent kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boards, fat tire bikes, and snowshoes.
