Located on a beautiful, small island on the Ohio River, the Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park
is one of the most gorgeous places to visit in West Virginia. Some may recognize the island from the
famous Burr conspiracy but the legacy of the island continues to live on. The park is open from May to
the last weekend of October and there are tours provided. In order to arrive at the island, there is a
special sternwheeler riverboat! Within the state park, there are plenty of opportunities for camping,
hiking, biking, shing and much more. Surrounding the island are several shopping options as well.
There are also special horse-drawn carriage rides throughout the park. For more information, visit:
