If you’re interested in visiting a gorgeous camping park near the river gorge of the Columbia River, the Beacon Rock State Park is the spot for you! Visitors can see the rock which Lewis and Clark crossed paths with twice in their famous expedition. In fact, originally, in their first voyage west, Lewis and Clark called this famous monolith, “Beaten Rock,” but upon their second voyage they slightly changed the name to “Beacon Rock” as it is now known today. Visitors can enjoy rock-climbing, mountain-biking, and hiking. In fact, Beacon Rock State Park is one of the most famous rock-climbing spots in the Washington Area.
